Flood Control Zone District Advisory Committee

Purpose: The Advisory Committee assists and make recommendations to the Flood Control Zone District Board of Supervisors in performing flood damage repairs, maintenance and improvements, and to minimize future further flood damage through prevention and management on the Nooksack River, its watershed and the other watersheds within Whatcom County.

Authority: Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 86.15.070 and Whatcom County Code (WCC) 100.02

Term Limit: Geographic area representative term limit is 2 full terms, one year separation required after two terms. Special District and Impacted Cities representatives have no term limit.

Term Length:  Geographic area representative terms are 4 years. Special District and Impacted Cities representative terms are 1 year. Committee alternate terms are 6 years.

Number of Members:  15 Members, including 9 representatives of geographic areas, 2 representatives of Special Districts, and 2 representatives of Impacted Cities. There are also 2 Tribal positions and committee alternates. Current member list
