 The Division of Emergency Management (DEM) is responsible for developing and maintaining a community infrastructure for emergency/disaster mitigation, planning, response, and recovery.
We do this through public education, training of the response community, developing plans, and building teams of responders. DEM works with emergency responders, volunteers, and others to maintain a constant state of readiness.
Whatcom County Emergency Management has partnered with other local emergency preparedness organizations to create Whatcom Unified Emergency Management.
