Records
Management
Public
Works Engineering Records Management and Archiving section is the
guardian of the legal records for all matters concerning public
roads, highways, bridges, ditches, or surveys, complete with the
original papers, documents, petitions, survey notes, and maps.
This large collection of records and documents dates back to the
mid-1800's.
These
records have been safeguarded through the use of microfilm, making
the records easier to locate, handle, and preserve for generations
to come. This is a statutory responsibility providing present and
future owners of property with historical and legal information.
While surveyors and consultants
(environmental and engineering) all use the services provided, the
public at large can also access these records and documents. Staff
is prepared to assist with their questions and requests.
